Production Technician
The Production Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of production equipment, including proper machine setup and job execution according to standard operating procedures. This role serves as a technical expert, supporting troubleshooting efforts, mentoring operators, and contributing to process improvements and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Production, Quality & Performance Monitoring
Monitor machine performance and product quality throughout the shift
Identify defects, process deviations, and equipment concerns, and take corrective action
Complete inspections, quality checks, and documentation accurately and on time
Minimize waste, scrap, downtime, and rework while maintaining production output
Technical Operation & Troubleshooting
Interpret job specifications, work orders, and instructions
Perform machine setups, changeovers, and adjustments (as trained)
Troubleshoot equipment and operational issues to restore performanceEscalate complex mechanical or electrical issues to Maintenance
Follow all standard operating procedures and work instructions
Assist in developing and improving SOPs and setup documentation
Support product trials, R&D activities, and process validation
Train and mentor operators on equipment operation, quality expectations, and safety practices
Support team members to ensure smooth shift operations
Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and teamwork
Communication & Documentation
Maintain accurate production, quality, and downtime records
Ensure clear shift-to-shift communication
Keep supervisors informed of performance, risks, and issues
Safety, Compliance & Housekeeping
Follow all safety requirements, GMPs, HACCP standards, and company policies
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Use proper PPE and follow lockout/tagout procedures
Support sanitation and food safety programs
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required
5–7 years of experience in printing, converting, packaging, or a similar industry
Strong mechanical aptitude and advanced tool knowledge
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Strong communication and teamwork skillsDetail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Schedule and Compensation
Day shift Monday through Thursday 6:15 AM to 4:35 PM, with Fridays as needed and no weekend work.
