Responsibilities
Complete website updates and performance monitoring for the Turbo Lab’s three sites, ensuring compliance, accessibility, and maintenance.
Consult with the Senior Program Manager on the distribution of symposia proceedings, maximizing distribution to exclusive groups before and during the show site.
Serve as the primary contact for TAMU Library Services to load Proceedings for public consumption with Oaktrust, format and transfer data, and ensure public availability within Turbo Lab guidelines.
Lead the build and optimization of Turbo Lab’s registration & program submission software, providing contracting, editing, troubleshooting, and technical support for the Aventri event platform.
Assist and consult with the Turbo Lab Communications Department and Senior Program Manager on building and testing a mobile app for symposia, publishing, monitoring, and improving future events.
Provide on‑site registration and technological support at annual Turbomachinery & Pump Symposia in Houston, including vendor relations and badge printing logistics.
Perform related duties to support the Center’s activities beyond the main symposia throughout the calendar year.
Act as the primary Turbo Lab staff contact for IT compliance, executing and supplying support for IT tickets, monitoring shared email addresses, and maintaining equipment inventory.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with WordPress site management and related technical tasks.
Experience in website design, software systems operation/optimization, and programming.
Background in management information systems, software systems optimization, coding, data analysis, or related fields.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, mobile apps, repository maintenance and distribution, website accessibility practices, Microsoft365, and communication systems operation/optimization.
Strong verbal and written communication, problem‑solving, troubleshooting, and training skills.
Ability to learn and understand software systems deeply, work independently in a fast‑paced environment, and collaborate effectively within a team.
Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with university staff and industry contacts at all levels.
