Position Overview
The Division of Biostatistics in the Department of Population Health Sciences (PHS) at the University of Utah School of Medicine seeks an Associate or Full Professor to serve as the director of the Translational Research: Implementation, Analysis and Design (TRIAD) Team. TRIAD is one of nine cores within the Center for Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI), supporting biomedical research across the university and affiliated institutions.
TRIAD is a multi‑departmental group of more than 40 master’s and PhD‑trained biostatisticians and research methodologists working in quantitative and qualitative methodologies, including health economics, survey design, qualitative research, implementation science, systematic review, and related areas.
Key Responsibilities
Direct and develop the TRIAD core, overseeing project management, resource allocation, and team leadership.
Collaborate with biomedical researchers to design, analyze, and interpret studies, providing methodological and statistical support.
Support and develop grant proposals, including grant writing, budgeting, and compliance.
Advising graduate students and training faculty in biostatistical methods and research design.
Conduct independent and collaborative methodological research in biostatistics.
Teach in the Biostatistics Ph.D. emphasis in the PHS Ph.D. program.
Represent TRIAD in national and international research networks.
