Overview
The Division of Biostatistics at the Department of Population Health Sciences (PHS) of the University of Utah School of Medicine invites applications for an Associate or Full Professor‑level faculty position to serve as the director of the Translational Research: Implementation, Analysis and Design (TRIAD) Team. TRIAD is a core of the university’s Center for Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI) and includes more than 40 master’s and PhD‑trained biostatisticians and research methodologists covering quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
Oversee and develop the TRIAD Team, including program management and leadership of core activities.
Collaborate with biomedical researchers, support and develop grant proposals, and advise graduate students.
Perform methodological research and pursue independent and collaborative projects in biostatistics.
Teach within the Biostatistics Ph.D. emphasis and in the PHS Ph.D. program.
Promote and foster a multidisciplinary research environment across the university and national/international networks.
Research Interests
Desired methodological expertise includes:
Design and analysis of observational studies
Design and analysis of clinical trials
Causal inference
Implementation science methodology
Data integration
Machine learning
'Omics (metabolomics, transcriptomics, metagenomics)
Social/behavioral science
Longitudinal and multilevel data analysis
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
A Ph.D. in biostatistics or a related discipline.
Demonstrated excellence in collaborative and methodological research.
Post‑doctoral training and/or experience is desired.
