Overview
South London is a place of real ambition and remarkable scale. Five boroughs – Croydon, Kingston upon Thames, Merton, Richmond upon Thames and Sutton – together form the South London Partnership, a cross‑party collaboration focused on inclusive and sustainable growth, health and care coordination, employment and skills, connectivity and infrastructure. This role offers an opportunity to lead the partnership’s strategy and delivery.

Responsibilities

Lead and work directly with the Leaders and Chief Executives of all five boroughs, shaping the Partnership’s priorities.

Direct a core team overseeing a £25 million portfolio of funded programmes across economic growth, employment and skills, health, digital inclusion, transport, and climate.

Represent South London with government departments, the Mayor of London, GLA, London Councils, the Integrated Care System, universities, colleges and businesses to articulate the region’s challenges and opportunities.

Drive the South London Growth strategy and the new transport strategy forward.

Build and nurture relationships, ensuring the partnership serves all members equally.

Qualifications

Strong political acumen and judgement.

Deep understanding of London and national government.

Proven record of leading large‑scale programmes involving multiple stakeholders.

Comfortable with ambiguity and able to energise dynamic environments.

Excellent relationship‑building and partnership‑leadership skills.

Self‑starter able to move fluidly between strategy and delivery, politics and partnership.
