Control Engineer

Electrical Controls Engineer | Cleveland, OH
Join a well-established automation team delivering custom controls and retrofit projects across industrial manufacturing sites in the Cleveland area. This is a hands‑on role with full ownership from design through commissioning.
The Role

Deliver retrofit, upgrade, and custom automation projects
Heavily involved in commissioning, troubleshooting, and site execution
Direct client interaction throughout project delivery
Requirements

BSEE required
~7–10 years hands‑on controls/automation experience
Strong PLC programming (Rockwell, Siemens, Modicon)
Experience with VFDs, servo systems, and drives (AB, Siemens, ABB, Parker)
Solid motor control fundamentals (torque, speed, mechanical systems)
Comfortable with industrial site work and ~40–50% travel
Responsibilities

Design and develop industrial control systems
Program and commission PLC‑based automation
Configure/startup VFDs, servo drives, motor systems
Support electrical design, schematics, panel layouts
Lead projects from concept through startup
Interface with clients, vendors, internal teams
Develop BOMs, documentation, technical reports
