Systems Engineer – Post-Sales Audiovisual (AV)
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented

Post-Sales Audiovisual Systems Engineer

to join our engineering and delivery team. In this role, you will be the technical anchor responsible for turning approved commercial AV designs into fully functional, high-performance systems.

You will bridge the gap between initial sales concepts and physical deployment, taking ownership of design validation, field engineering, device configuration, network integration, and final system commissioning. This is a highly technical, execution-focused role that requires a deep understanding of AV-over-IP architectures, control systems, and digital signal processing.

Key Responsibilities

Review pre-sales designs, scopes of work (SOW), and Bills of Materials (BOM) to verify technical viability, signal flow integrity, and structural readiness.

Catch and resolve hardware incompatibilities, capacity limits, or environmental constraints prior to equipment ordering and site deployment.

Generate and maintain precise, field-ready documentation, including functional signal flow schematics, rack elevations, network layouts, and final "As-Built" drawings.

Perform advanced on-site or staging-lab commissioning of complex integrated AV systems.

Load, test, and perform minor adjustments to control system code and user interfaces (e.g., Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, AMX).

Configure and tune Audio Digital Signal Processors (DSPs), ensuring optimal gain staging, acoustic echo cancellation (AEC), microphone routing, and room equalization.

Calibrate video distribution systems, EDID pathways, and display endpoints for pixel-perfect performance.

Network Integration & AV-over-IP

Configure managed network switches and implement optimization protocols (IGMP snooping, QoS, VLAN segmentation) to support high-bandwidth AV-over-IP deployment (e.g., Dante, NVX, SDVoE).

Interface directly with enterprise clients' internal IT and network security teams to safely integrate AV systems onto corporate networks.

Quality Assurance & Handover

Execute rigorous end-to-end system testing and quality assurance protocols to ensure strict compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

Act as the tier-3 technical escalation point on-site to troubleshoot complex, unpredictable system failures or software bugs.

Conduct technical system walkthroughs, deliver training to client IT personnel, and facilitate a smooth handover to the client or post-project support teams.

Qualifications & Skills
Technical Experience

Experience:

3–5+ years of dedicated experience in commercial AV systems engineering, commissioning, or field deployment.

Hardware/Software Proficiency:

Extensive hands‑on experience configuring:

Control Ecosystems:

Q‑SYS, Crestron, Extron.

UC Platforms:

Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR), Zoom Rooms, Cisco Webex hardware.

Networking:

Solid understanding of OSI model layers 1–3, TCP/IP networking, subnets, and switch configuration.

Certifications (Highly Preferred)

Industry:

AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist — Design or Installation (CTS‑D or CTS‑I).

Networking:

Cisco CCNA or equivalent networking fundamentals certification.

Soft Skills & Working Conditions

Strong analytical and systematic troubleshooting skills under tight project deadlines.

Ability to read and interpret architectural blueprints, structural drawings, and electrical layouts.

Clear professional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical problems into clear options for non-technical stakeholders.

Ability to travel locally to project sites as required for commissioning phases.
