Commercial Real Estate Underwriter And/Or Counsel

A leading organization in the commercial real estate services industry is seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Underwriter and/or Counsel to support complex real estate transactions and contribute to continued business growth. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with strong technical expertise, exceptional risk assessment capabilities, and the ability to navigate sophisticated commercial transactions. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders and external clients while helping structure and execute high-value commercial real estate deals.
Key Responsibilities
Underwrite complex commercial real estate transactions, including large-scale, multi-jurisdictional, and structured deals.
Analyze title, legal, and transactional risks and develop practical business solutions.
Provide guidance to attorneys, lenders, developers, investors, and other stakeholders throughout the transaction lifecycle.
Review and negotiate title commitments, endorsements, agreements, and related transaction documents.
Collaborate with operations, legal, and business development teams to support client objectives and transaction execution.
Advise stakeholders on title coverage, risk mitigation strategies, and transaction structuring.
Facilitate issue resolution and recommend creative solutions to support successful closings.
Qualifications
Significant experience in commercial title underwriting, commercial real estate law, or a related field.
Deep understanding of title insurance products, endorsements, regulatory requirements, and industry practices.
Proven track record managing complex commercial real estate transactions independently.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to evaluate risk while balancing business objectives and client needs.
Established relationships within the commercial real estate industry are highly valued.
Juris Doctor (JD) preferred; active bar admission is a plus.

Experience supporting high-value commercial real estate transactions involving multiple stakeholders.
Ability to manage concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
