Leading a team of underwriters, the full-time Texas Licensed Underwriting VP will manage mortgage loan underwriting processes, ensure compliance with guidelines, and drive team performance in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities
Manage and develop a team of underwriters to achieve production and quality goals, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures
Oversee day-to-day underwriting tasks, conducting reviews to minimize risk and employing problem resolution techniques
Train and coach underwriters on company overlays and agency requirements, planning for continuous improvement in team efficiency
Required qualifications
7+ years of experience in Residential Mortgage Loan Underwriting or a related field
High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
Previous leadership experience in managing teams
Advanced knowledge of mortgage lending principles, regulatory compliance, and applicable industry standards
Intermediate to advanced experience with mortgage banking technology, including Encompass (LOS) and MS Office products
