Chrysler: Next Campaign Will Focus on New Products

AdAge reports that Chrysler and Gotham are working on a campaign “it hopes will help repair its image in the minds of consumers.” Not exactly, per a Chrysler representative. The automaker tells AgencySpy:

“Chrysler Group asked Gotham to conduct research for a possible corporate message and campaign. The agency worked with us to develop ideas and test them out, however, we have not confirmed a corporate campaign to air. Currently, we are focused on developing campaigns targeted at new products that will begin to roll out shortly.”

It’s an important point given the failure of those GM/Ed Whitacre ads which attempted to show the company’s employees hard at work.

As one commenter noted in the comments, “Wow. Another auto campaign featuring real employees? Ground breaking.” Maybe not &#151 we’ll have to wait and see. But, is there any value to showing people at work? It seems to work for Zappos.
