Yesterday, we posted a story about Alma DDB CD Raymundo Vargas‘ 261-page PDF detailing every single award the man’s won over the course of his two decades in advertising. Excessive, yes, and we asked you, dear commenters, whether or not this thing was a case of “egomania.”

Turns out commenter Doctor McShip was right on the money. This is what Mr. Vargas had to say about the PDF:

“I put together that website ONLY as part of my visa application. It was easier for everybody to see the documents and spots. Never intended to have that site as my portfolio and no, is not an ego trip. I guess my mistake was that I never put it down or coded it with a password.”

As an immigrant myself (Chile, stand up), I can relate with how difficult it can be to come to the U.S. from a foreign country. There’s paperwork aplenty, no doubt. At press time, raymundovargas.com remains live.
