Paper.li Announces New Features And Addition of Eric Hippeau, Former HuffPo CEO, To Advisory Board

Today is a big day for Paper.li, the Twitter newspaper service. Not only have they rolled out some pretty cool new features which give editors more control over their Twitter dailies, but they’ve also added Eric Hippeau, former CEO of Huffington Post, to their advisory board.

For those who are unfamiliar with the service, Paper.li enables anyone to publish their own daily newspaper based on curated Twitter and Facebook feeds. I’ve written before about how to create your own paper with Paper.li, so you can go ahead and try out this ultra cool Twitter curation tool.

Paper.li has been a favorite “Twitter newspaper” service since its launch last spring, and it has cemented its places as a leader in the space with the updates to its services announced today.

New features:

  • Improved search – Paper.li has its new “Newsstand” section which brings you tailored and curated daily Twitter newspapers based on your interests. You can add newspapers about topics, people, and articles that are relevant by using the Newsstand’s search function.
  • Enhanced curation – in the past, you could only add a single Twitter user (and their followers) to a Paper.li newspaper. Now, they have added the ability to combine multiple Twitter (and Facebook) feeds into a single newspaper.
  • Easier editorial control – rather than letting their newspapers automate everything after you’ve selected the topic, Paper.li is now enabling editors to delete or rearrange articles in each daily edition of their paper.

Also announced today was the addition of a new member to Paper.li’s board of advisors: Eric Hippeau, former CEO of the Huffington Post. Hippeau will join Guy Kawasaki on the board.
