Twitter Opens New Detroit Office

Twitter is settling into its newest office, right in the middle of downtown Detroit. Employees in this new office will help get advertisers, like those in the automotive industry, get their 140-character ads up and running.

Twitter’s Detroit office will be located in the M@dison Building in the heart of the city. The office building is owned by Rock Ventures LLC, and is part of the “WEBward Avenue” corridor, a rejuvenated area of the downtown that is home to a host of social media companies including Are You a Human which creates alternatives to CAPTCHAs, and UpTo, a next generation social calendar.

Adam Bain, Twitter’s president of global revenue, explains why the company chose Detroit as its new office:

“Detroit’s emerging mix of automotive and digital cultures made it a natural location for Twitter’s newest office. We’re excited to work face-to-face with the city’s most established brands and happy to play a role in downtown Detroit’s digital renaissance.”

These new digs will house employees focused on connecting to advertisers and marketers in the Detroit area. They’ll help interested businesses purchase and optimize Promoted Products, Twitter’s advertising products.

The company is growing quickly, adding Detroit to its portfolio of US offices that include its home base in San Francisco and its second US office in New York.

Twitter also has several offices in Europe. Its first office, in London, was opened just about a year ago. Next, the company opened an office in Dublin, and made this its International Headquarters. And most recently, Twitter opened an office in Germany.
