Tweet To @OHT For Real-Time World Cup Translations

The World Cup is a global phenomenon, attracting viewers, spectators and travelers from across the world every four years. And because of this multiculturalism, much of the news stories, event coverage and more are broadcast in a variety of languages.

One company wants to use social media to help people the world over to understand any and all coverage of the World Cup, by providing real-time translations via Twitter.

One Hour Translation is offering soccer fans free translation services for World Cup coverage.

Beginning on June 12th, anyone watching the games can tweet to the @OHT Twitter account their request for translation, and they will receive a response in real time.

The service is aimed mainly at the tourists who are actually attending the World Cup. They are encouraged to use it to translate directions to events or read local news coverage, and to generally communicate in the local language quickly and easily.

Ofer Shoshan, CEO, One Hour Translation, has this to say about the free service:

“With so much global attention on the FIFA World Cup, this is a great opportunity to allow fans from different counties to connect and show pride for their respective teams. During this year’s tournament, we will also allow travelers to interact with the local market and fellow travelers, as they will be able to translate messages in real-time.”
