Rovio Angry Birds Enlists The iPad Magician for Update Announcement

You Tube personality and real world iPad Magician is helping to announce the latest update for Rovio’s Angry Birds on Android and iOS called Abra-Ca-Bacon.

The new update to Angry Birds Seasons includes Magic Portals, so the video and talent fit was a perfect match. The portals help to transport birds – just shoot them at a portal and they magically appear out of the same looking portal elsewhere on-screen. The portals are not limited to just bird-transport, bits of explosions also can travel through the space-warps.Click here to see the video announcements: Read more

‘Angry Birds Star Wars’ Now Officially Available for Android, iOS

The furious fowl take on a new enemy in the latest installment of Rovio’s Angry Birds franchise. Hours ago, in a country not too far away, the noble Galactic Empire was suddenly attacked by a rogue band of birds.

You can join in the attack on the Empire as you explore more than 80 new levels set in iconic locations like Tatooine and the Pig Star. Can you dodge Imperial pigs, laser turrets, Tusken Raider pigs, and the dark side of the Force to get all three stars?

The app is available in both paid and free version for Android, with the free one being ad-supported, but there seems to only be a paid app for the iPad and iPhone.

‘Angry Birds Star Wars’ Trailer Confirms Pig Vader Character

The official release of Angry Birds Star Wars is still a couple days away, leaving just enough time for one final trailer.

The following video only shows a single level being played for a few seconds, but that is enough to tell us that there is a Pig Vader character. The character appeared to be using The Force to hold bits of the level in place, and once he was defeated the level fell apart.

New ‘Angry Birds Star Wars’ Trailer Reveals Obi-Wan Bird Character

The latest installment in the game franchise involving fierce fowl is due to be released on November 8th, and the trailers have just begun to get interesting. Rovio posted yet another trailer today and for the first time they’ve shown us a character which I think is cool.

If you skip to about 26 seconds into the movie you’ll see what I think is a bird based on Obi-Wan Kenobi. This bird appears to use The Force to attack the piggies. Now that looks like a neat trick, unlike the blaster, lightsaber, or taser inspired characters which Rovio has already shown us.

‘Angry Birds Star Wars’ to Get Chewbacca & Solo as Bird Characters: Video

The release of the latest installment in you favorite game franchise is only six days away and the game play videos are getting a little thick on Youtube. Today’s video shows that the giant red bird has been adapted to look like Chewbacca and the yellow bird now looks vaguely like Han Solo.

The video also shows that there will be zero gravity levels like the ones found in Angry Birds Space as well as ones placed on the various planets found in the movies. The variety should add more challenges as you are forced to switch your technique from one style to the next.

New Angry Birds Star Wars Trailer Reveals R2-D2 and C3-PO Characters

We’re still a week away from he release date for this game and today Rovio teased us with another game play video.

As you can see in the video, both droid characters from the movies have been adapted for the new game. R2 was given a taser like ability, and C-3PO blows up. Neither ability is really all that close to what the characters do in the movies, but I suppose that is forgivable. These droids don’t actually do much besides stand there and talk, so if Rovio wanted to bring the iconic characters into the new game it would involve reinventing the characters.

Rovio Releases First GamePlay Video for ‘Angry Birds: Star Wars’

Rovio has been teasing us for several weeks now about their newest addition to the Angry Birds franchise, posting teaser video and teaser video. Today they finally showed us a tiny bit of what the game will look like:

As you can see Rovio has created at least 2 new bird characters based on Luke and Leia Skywalker. Clearly Rovio has tied this game into the Star Wars mythos; one character shoots some kind of blaster while the other has a lightsaber. And if you look closely you’ll see that the pigs have been dressed up as Imperial troopers and Tusken raiders in levels reminiscent of Hoth and Tatooine.
