Google I/O kicked off yesterday with the launch of the Nexus 7 tablet, but Google’s not done showing off new tricks.

This morning brought news that Google Chrome, now the world’s most popular web browser, will shortly be available on the iPad and iPhone. It’s also going to be bringing Google Drive with it.

The app was just listed in iTunes a couple minutes ago. It requires iOS 4.3 and above.

Google Docs is also going places today: offline. The Google word-processing service has long been a serious competitor to MS Office and Open Office. At least, it would be a serious competitor if not for the fact that it won’t work without a live web connection. If you’ve ever had connectivity issues (I have) then you can appreciate the news today.

Note, though, that it’s just the word processing service that’s offline. Google said that the rest of its office suite (lik eGoogle Presentations and Spreadsheets) should soon go offline as well.
