In the latest iPhone 5 rumor that we have seen reported, Apple is planning to announce the iPhone 5 on September 12th and will begin taking orders for the device the same day. This rumor puts the announcement ahead of earlier rumors which said that Apple would reveal the new device on September 21st.

The Los Angeles Times has more: “Though the sixth-generation iPhone likely won’t launch or get to customers until Sept. 21, the new report says there will hardly be any gap between the phone’s unveiling and the start of pre-orders. The report also says a second wave of iPhone 5 launches, for international markets not included in the Sept. 21 launch, will come in early October, likely on Oct. 5.”

Details about the phone have been leaking for months including rumors about what the shell, battery, face, Sim card drawer, and logic board will look like.
