Arianna Urges Women to Go to Bed
HuffPost’s Editor-in-Chief Arianna Huffington is teaming up with Glamour’s Editor-in-Chief Cindi Leive to call on women to take the “Sleep Challenge 2010″. Huffington and Leive are saying, “If you want to get ahead as a woman, go to bed.”
They don’t mean sex. They mean sleep — specifically 7 1/2 hours of Zzzz’s a night. Starting today, Huffington and Leive are committing to clocking these hours.
Together they will blog once a week on huffingtonpost.com and glamour.com to update readers on how their budding sleep project is coming along.
“It may sound far-fetched, but I honestly believe that sleep is a feminist issue,” says Leive, who admits she gets only 5 1/2 hours of sleep a night.
HuffPost’s living section is offering research on sleep deprivation. Glamour, meanwhile, is stepping it up with a “Sleepstakes” giveaway of lingerie (OK, so who said no sex?) and a bed.
Log on to huffingtonpost.com and glamour.com each Monday and Thursday throughout January for updates.
