David Corn’s Unusual Morning on the Acela

Better to be safe than sorry when tweeting about the Secretary of Homeland Security on the Acela. Just before 8 a.m. this morning, like any good journalist, Mother Jones Bureau Chief David Corn began noticing who was in his midst.

Then the foreshadowing.

And then Corn starts wondering aloud.

“I wonder if they’ll bring the bomb-sniffing dogs past Napolitano and her entourage? I imagined the person in charge of protecting the entire homeland would have her own transportation system. (‘Fire up the Lear jet!’)”

Is he possibly crossing lines?

Oh no, Corn, watch out!

And the dismal conclusion…

<blockquote class=”twitter-tweet”><p>This Twitter account has been suspended for routine servicing.</p>&mdash; David Corn (@DavidCornDC) <a href=”https://twitter.com/DavidCornDC/status/332468565011730432″>May 9, 2013</a></blockquote>

Since 8:14 a.m. we haven’t heard a peep out of Corn. If a Twitter account is actually suspended you can’t see a thing, so it’s doubtful he has been shut off. Maybe he’s chatting up Secretary Napolitano? Or security strapped him to the roof for the remainder of the trip? Another possibility: they threw him off and stuck him on the Chinatown bus.

We wrote to ask for comment.
