Lobbying Firms Thrive Amid Trash Talk

Lobbyists may have a bad rap in Washington, with President Obama at the helm of the anti-lobbying chatter and most politicians claiming to not want anything to do with “special interests.”

But forget all that.

Today Roll Call brings us the “Top 25 Lobby Shops” and lets us know that lobbying firms here are alive and well – and actually thriving. Read the feature by Anna Palmer here.

Lobbying features are a hot commodity in Washington.

NJ released its “Top Lobbyist by Industry” story in August 2009.

The Hill does an annual “Top Lobbyist” feature. Read May 2009′s “Top Lobbyist” feature here.

In January 2009 Politico brought us the “Top Lobbying Fights to Expect.” Read that here.

Washingtonian magazine also has been home to a top lobbyist feature. In 1998 they picked their “50 Top Lobbysts” and didn’t bring the feature back until 2007. They called it: “Hired Guns: The City’s 50 Top Lobbyists.”
