NYT moves into the digital era. New plans include implementing technology to make the newspaper’s site easier to read on a cell phone.
Also on the NYT- executive salaries will remain the same they have since 2006.
McClatchy’s Miami Herald will cut about 175 jobs and reduce the salaries of the remaining staff. From AP: layoffs include 33 full-time and eight part-time positions in the newsroom and staffers who survive the layoffs will endure pay cuts- 5 percent for those making between $25,000 and $50,000, and 10 percent for those earning more- starting March 23.
Hearst papers is considering decreasing page numbers and increasing subscription prices.

Radio Online reports: Air America Media has formed a syndication division to distribute programming outside of its Liberal Talk network offerings, under Senior VP/Programming Bill Hess. Air America Media Syndication will launch on March 22nd with its first offering, a weekend show entitled “Newsweek On Air,” a 27-year-old program from the staff of Newsweek magazine.
