Today’s “Angry Journalist” rant of the day: “There will be more job cuts at my newspaper after only a couple month’s respite from the specter of layoffs. I guess those of us that are left will have to do less with more! I’m thinking we’ll now have job cuts every quarter now to appease the shareholders when the bad numbers come out. It already feels like we’re cut to the bone.”

  • A release announced, “ABC News’ ‘Nightline’ continues to grow among Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 compared to last year while the competition declines, according to Nielsen Media Research. Additionally ‘Nightline’ increased among Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 season to date and 4th quarter to date while the competition again declined. NBC’s ‘Tonight Show’ is experiencing its worst start to the season among Total Viewers and A25-54 since at least 1991, which is as far back as Nielsen’s electronic records date. CBS’ ‘Letterman’ is also experiencing its worst start to a season among A25-54 since at least 1991and its worst start to a season among total viewers in 10 years (since 1998).”
