News Notes: O’Brien, Dougherty, Kerry & “White House Wire”

Soledad O’Brien fared far better than her CNN colleague Wolf Blitzer on “Celebrity Jeopardy.” Last night, O’Brien won $6,200 and $25,000 was donated to a charity of her choice, even though she didn’t finish first. Earlier: “Blitzer in Quite a Situation on “Celebrity Jeopardy.”

• CNN foreign affairs correspondent Jill Dougherty sat down with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton today. The interview covered Afghanistan, Pakistan and even health care.

• Senator John Kerry will make his appearances on CBS’ “Face the Nation” and CNN’s “State of the Union” this Sunday from Kabul, Afghanistan.

• The White House has launched an e-magazine, “White House Wire,” focused on the black community. The first edition went out this week and included stories on UN Ambassador Susan Rice’s speech at Howard University Law School, Attorney General Eric Holder and Education Secretary Arne Duncan’s trip to Chicago to address youth violence and the nomination of a black woman as a judge for the First Circuit Court of Appeals, according to the Root.
