In a shocking twist, Amie Parnes is leaving Politico for a job at The Hill covering the White House beat. She replaces Sam Youngman, who recently left the publication for Reuters. Amie will write the weekly political column that Sam wrote.
But the real question is: Will she continue to smooch the White House and first lady Michelle Obama? We soon shall see.
Congratulations to Parnes.

Amie Parnes, who is currently a reporter at Politico, is joining the newsroom as The Hill’s new White House reporter. She has been with Politico for four years, reporting first from Capitol Hill and then from the White House. Amie will take the lead in our White House coverage, and as the campaign season intensifies she will also increasingly report on President Obama’s re-election campaign. In addition, she will write a weekly column in the same slot as did Sam Youngman. Before joining Politico Amie worked stints at the New York Times, the Boston Globe, the Philadelphia Inquirer and at Scripps Howard News Service in Washington. I’m delighted she will now be a member of our newsroom. She arrives in mid-December. Thanks, Hugo
