Roll Call Writer to Celebrate First Book

CQ Roll Call Publicist turned Roll Call contributing writer Rebecca Gale is unveiling her first book, Trying, at a party Tuesday night at the Science Club. The book hits shelves Dec. 10.

Dezenhall Resources, CQ Roll Call and BoxFire are throwing the soirée. BoxFire Press is publishing the novel about a Washington couple named Mandy and Cal. Cal has a job full of secret government projects that he can’t share with Mandy. And Mandy hopes he’s the one, but thinks she needs to save him from his addictive line of work. Noteworthy: Gale is a former press secretary for Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas). She has been around Washington and the book is based loosely on her experiences.

Just a note to would-be party stragglers: He who thinks he can just pop in for free cocktails should think again.
