Taking Out the Trash

What we almost missed today…

Senator Kudlow? Maybe… CNBC anchor and syndicated columnist Larry Kudlow is considering a run for Senate against Sen. Chris Dodd (D-CT), telling Politico, “I’m thinking about it, that’s all I can say… it’s the kind of thing where I’m talking to friends, talking to strategists, talking to my wife, and praying on it… It’s all come on very fast, and I don’t have any definite thoughts at all other than the fact that I am thinking about it.” You remember similar speculation about MSNBC’s Chris Matthews and most recently, Joe Scarborough.

Rod Blagojevich may not have a job, but who needs one with a six-figure book deal lined up, right? The terms of the book deal with Beverly Hills-based Phoenix Books, one of the largest independent book publishers in the U.S., have not been disclosed in a release, but we do know that the book has a working title of “The Governor” and is set to be released in October. He will supposedly write about the discussions, the considerations, and the factors involved in picking President Barack Obama’s successor to the U.S. Senate. The Sun-Times reports Blagojevich may not see a dime of it under a law now being considered.
