FB Header.jpg
SG.jpgSay hello to Savannah Guthrie. She is one of NBC’s two White House correspondents and co-host of MSNBC’s “The Daily Rundown” each morning at 9 a.m. alongside the network’s other White House correspondent, Chuck Todd.

If you were a carbonated beverage which would you be? I am not sure of the deeper meaning of this question, but Fresca is delicious.

How often do you Google yourself? I don’t have to! Bill Burton has a Google alert on me and keeps me informed. (He has one on all the WH correspondents.)

Who is your favorite working journalist? Hands down: NBC’s Pete Williams.

Did you see “Twilight” and “New Moon?” If so, who is more your type, Edward or Jacob? No, my teen viewing habits are confined to American Idol. And I am devastated about Simon Cowell.

When did you last cry and why? See previous answer.

What word do you routinely misspell? embarassed to say.

What’s the name of your cell phone ring? “life ruiner”

What swear word do you use most often? @#$%!

What word or phrase do you overuse? @#$%!

What TV show do you have to watch? I am so glad you asked! “The Daily Rundown” with Chuck Todd and Savannah Guthrie. 9am ET/6a PT on MSNBC!

If you were trapped on a deserted island, which public official would you want to be trapped with and why? This is a sad, sad Washington question.

Who has been your mentor? My brilliant mother. She has her masters’ degree in journalism. She also has the natural ability to zero in on the one issue you’re trying to avoid.

What’s the best advice you ever received in the course of your career? “Think big.”

What and where was your first job in journalism? My first TV job was at a tiny NBC station in Butte, Montana. Newsroom staff of four. I packed all my worldly possessions in my car and moved up there, only to have the station close two weeks later.

Which one interview of your career did you enjoy most? I don’t know if “enjoy” is the right word, but interviewing the president was definitely a memorable experience.

What famous person have you been told that you resemble? Brian Williams says Mary Tyler Moore, but that is because I am constantly tossing my hat high into the air.
