STAFF NEWS: Rachel Weiner to The Fix

We are pleased to announce that Rachel Weiner, who has expertly edited the PostPolitics.com site since its inception, is joining The Fix blogging team. Rachel will replace Felicia Sonmez, who is now covering the Hill and will soon anchor a new congressional blog.  Rachel will work closely with Chris Cillizza and Aaron Blake to strengthen the content on The Fix and come up with new and innovative ways to better integrate social media and aggregation into the blog.

Rachel came to The Post in January 2010 to help us launch PostPolitics. Her knowledge of politics, strong aggregation skills, headline-writing talent and understanding of digital content quickly made her a standout on the Universal News Desk. Because of her stellar performance, her role was expanded a few months ago to supervising other national producers beyond those handling politics. Before coming to The Post, Rachel held key editing positions at The Huffington Post and Talking Points Memo. She has an eye for the offbeat and what is capturing attention on the Web, and we look forward to her ideas for broadening the Fix brand.
