Where Will Roll Call’s Mitchell Go?

It may be too soon to ponder this, but Washington is buzzing that Charlie Mitchell, Roll Call‘s beloved Editor who resigned today, could soon be headed to a Roll Call competitor, direct or otherwise. He has many fans around town inside and outside of Roll Call.

FishbowlDC asked Jim VandeHei, Executive Editor at Politico, if he will end up there. VandeHei wouldn’t comment on whether there have been any talks with Mitchell, but said: “Charlie is a first-class editor, as everyone who has worked for him knows. Few know more about Congress and Washington politics than he does – and few are better at working with younger reporters and teaching them how to break news. More importantly, he is a terrific guy. This is a big loss for Roll Call.”
