Alec Baldwin Named Screen Actors Guild Ambassador

In a slightly unusual move, the Screen Actors Guild Foundation has named 30 Rock star Alec Baldwin as its first Ambassador.

As part of this new position, Baldwin will work with SAG in bringing attention to the organization and its work within the acting community.

Yes, the same man who was kicked off an American Airlines flight because he couldn’t quit his game of “Words with Friends,” will now represent the SAG.

“The SAG Foundation is extremely fortunate to have Alec Baldwin on board as our first SAG Ambassador,” says SAG Foundation president JoBeth Williams in a statement.

“His talent, intelligence, and compassion will greatly benefit the countless working actors we serve on a daily basis. By accepting this position, Alec is already speaking on behalf of his fellow actor, and his involvement will do much to strengthen and protect the artistic community.”

Baldwin will appear in a new public service announcement that will premiere at the Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony on Sunday.
