Demand Media Partners with Rachael Ray

Among the various Demand Media curated properties is eHow.com. And though it may be mere coincidence, just days after Google announced changes to its search algorithm to knock down the prominence of content farm return results, the Santa Monica company has today announced that Food Channel star Rachael Ray will be the new “lead creative force” of eHow’s food channel.

Per a blog post by Demand executive vice president Steven Kydd, Ray is bringing along a bunch of Google-busting friends:

We’re also excited to welcome several of Rachael’s culinary colleagues to our content studio in the weeks ahead, where they’ll be joining our Talent and Expert Network to create new articles and video series across a variety of food and lifestyle topics. Moreover, we’ll be working with Rachael to identify and nurture a whole new class of emerging stars who will contribute their own distinctive voices and offer our visitors new ideas for making cooking more fun, rewarding and delicious every day.

Last week, Demand operations exec Larry Fitzgibbon insisted that Google’s tweaks had made no “material net impact” on the company’s content and media businesses.
