Fred Willard Likely Won’t Face Charges Following Arrest

He might be without his job at PBS, but it looks like actor Fred Willard likely won’t face charges following his arrest at the Tiki Theater in Hollywood for lewd contact.

TMZ.com reports the Los Angeles City Attorney will drop the charges against 72-year-old if he enrolls in a two-week Alternative Prosecution Program (ie: two weeks of being told not to expose yourself in public). The programs costs $380.

“I want to stress this was and is a fileable case, and should the defendant choose not to enroll or not complete the program, we have the option of filing criminal charges within a year,” said Frank Mateljan, spokesman for City Atty. Carmen Trutanich.

No word yet if Willard will accept the offer or not. He’s been adamant that it was simply a big misunderstanding but hasn’t denied being at the adult theater.

Take the deal and please work in a reference to this whole incident in Anchorman 2.

Thanks.
