Kevin Hart to Host 2012 MTV Video Music Awards

Comedian Kevin Hart has been tapped as the host of the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, the music network announced on Wednesday.

Even thought there was no “host” of the 2011 VMA’s, Hart made several appearances throughout last year’s award show.

Hart also hosted the 2011 BET Awards last June, making him an unofficial member of the Viacom family at this point.

The 2012 VMA’s are on Thursday, Sept. 6 at 8:00 p.m. from Staples Center.
