Ray Bradbury Short Set for Long Film Festival Run

On the official website for Ray Bradbury’s Kaleidoscope, a 17-minute sci-fi short adapated from the story of the same name in The Illustrated Man, there is a rather unusual running tally of the film festivals director Eric Tozzi has submitted to. In the wake of 91-year-old genre icon Bradbury’s death, the movie will debut next Tuesday at The Landmark’s New Media Film Festival.

Kaleidoscope stars Brett Stimely (pictured) as Hollis, an astronaut on an exploded spaceship cargo carrier who hurtles along with the other surviving crew members towards almost-certain death. Stimely’s mainstream credits include Watchmen and the Transformers series.

When Bradbury saw the film, he was moved to tears… “I was proud to have his blessing on the movie,” stated Stimely. “Even though Ray was only in a brief moment of my life, he touched me deeply with his warmth, his kindness and his loving spirit. I shall miss him.”

Stimely additionally wrote and produced Kaleidoscope, which is also slated for Louisville’s Fright Night Film Fest at the end of the month.
