Professional Experience

In almost 20 ten years as a full-time journalist, I've interviewed a wide array of people in the arts, food and travel worlds, whether it's Laurie Anderson, Nigella Lawson, Moby, the Bad Plus, Richard Blais or Michael Ruhlman. I'm primarily a food and travel writer with 10 years of working with Frommers as a writer, editor and author. I also write about women's health issues, wellness, yoga and spirituality. I am versatile, accurate, thorough and reliable. In 2000, I received an M.A. in journalism from New York University, in its cultural reporting and criticism program. I taught writing part time at Lafayette College for five years, focusing mostly on food. I have written Women Icons of Popular Music: The Rebels, the Rockers and Renegades (Greenwood, 2008) and am the co-author of Frommer's Philadelphia and the Amish Country (Frommer's, 2011).
