Author Douglas Rushkoff Talks Iran & Twitter On The Menu

mmm_2-3.gifToday on the mediabistro.com Morning Media Menu podcast welcomed Douglas Rushkoff, the author of the new book, “Life Inc.: How the World Became a Corporation and How to Take It Back.”

This week, Rushkoff wrote a column on The Daily Beast called “How Iran’s Hackers Killed Big Brother” about how some Iranians continued to Twitter as the country’s government tried to shut down journalism there. “Just the fact that they exist changes people’s experience about what happened there,” Rushkoff said of the Twittering Iranians. “People who have access to these technologies are no longer alone.”

Also discussed: why mergers and acquisitions don’t work and why they still happen, the ideology behind “Life Inc.” that people are accepting corporate logic as true and details of his meet up in New York tonight.
