Daily News Corrects Report, Makes Weiner More Firm

When the New York Daily News asked Anthony Weiner if he was currently sexting anyone, his answer was so ambiguous that it caused people to roll their eyes and say something along the lines of “Here we go again.” However, since that interview was published, the paper issued a correction, claiming that Weiner’s answer was “transcribed incorrectly.”

Here’s the original exchange:

Daily News: “There’s no one you’re sexting now?”

Weiner: “You can quibble about beginnings, middles and ends but what we’re talking about is over a year ago.”

You can see why people were annoyed. The answer to this question should’ve been easy. Now check out the “clarified” version:

Daily News: “And it was over a year ago? There’s been nothing else?”

Weiner: “I mean, oh yeah, all that stuff is behind me. You can quibble about you know, beginnings, middles and ends, but it was basically a year ago.”

A little bit better, right? If Weiner is still lying, at least this shows he’s trying to get better at lying.
