Giants Settle for Number Two in Weekly Ratings

The New York Giants upended the Chicago Bears on NBC’s Sunday Night Football. It was the Bears first loss of the season. The game, on WNBC, took number two for the week, according to the Nielsen Company. It had 1.6 million watchers with an 8.0 rating.

Leading up to the Giants game, the final half hour of Football Night in America tied for six (1.1 million/5.6).

But, Monday’s edition of Dancing With The Stars scaled the heights of the week. The two-hour performance show reached number one, netting 1.7 million on WABC with an 8.6 rating. The next night’s result show had a fifth-place showing (1.1 million/5.7).

Speaking of performance, Glee was next on the Top 10, pulling in 1.3 million WNYW viewers and a 6.5 rating.

More NFL action made it onto the survey. Fox’s late Sunday afternoon game spilled into prime time and notched a number four (1.2 million/6.3). 

WCBS made their first of five straight entries at number eight with Two and a Half Men (1 million/5.2).

MTV’s Jersey Shore tied for 28 (774,000/3.8).
