Idol and Dancing Stand Atop Weekly Ratings
As usual, American Idol and Dancing With The Stars hold down the top four slots for week in New York. The Idol performance show stood atop the prime time ratings, according to the Nielsen Company. The 90-minute show pulled in 1.9 million Fox 5/WNYW viewers, with a 9.5 rating.
The stunning result telecast, that sent Howard Beach’s Pia Toscano packing, settled for number three (1.6 million/7.9).
Dancing grabbed the second position for the week with its two-hour performance on WABC (1.7 million/8.5) and fourth slot for elimination night (1.2 million/6.1).
60 Minutes had a fifth-place finish (1 million/5.0). Also on WCBS, the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship took sixth (1 million/4.9).
Meantime, the Yankees/Red Sox matchup Sunday night on ESPN landed at number 10 (816,000/4.0).
