Three nights of American Idol meant three nights atop the New York prime time ratings. Last Thursday’s two-hour episode, where the Top 10 and three wild cards were chosen, had a strong number one for the week. Estimated 1.4 million WNYW/Channel 5 viewers tuned in with a 7.3 rating, according to Nielsen.
Performance nights of the boys and girls on Tuesday and Wednesday tied for number two (1.2 million/6.2).
60 Minutes was next in fourth place on CBS (1 million/5.2), while ABC sitcom Modern Family was fifth (933,000/4.8).
NCIS gave registered high for week at six (917,000/4.7). The Tiffany Network had 12 shows among the Top 16.
Another program that did well on WCBS/Channel 2 was How I Met Your Mother (903,000/4.6).
