In Touch Loses Editor
Keith Kelly reports today that Bauer Publishing‘s celebrity tab In Touch Weekly has lost its editor.
According to Kelly’s sources, Richard Spencer left his post “abruptly” on Monday, as the magazine was in the midst of closing deadlines. The reason for the departure could be a dispute with Bauer’s CEO Hubert Boehle over pay. Said Kelly:
“Signs point to a monumental blow-up between Spencer and [Boehle] — possibly over Spencer’s demands for a boost in the $750,000-a-year compensation package he was said to be pulling down.”
In Touch‘s executive editor Michelle Lee is the likely successor for Spencer, Kelly added. A Bauer spokesperson has not yet returned our requests for comment.
