For the last week or two, we've instituted an informal ban on posts about Radar because it's become Gawker's Terri Schiavo and we don't want to step on their beat. (Radar-related stories on Romenesko all of last week: 0. Radar-related posts on Gawker yesterday: 3.) One might even think that all the guest editors were ordered to cover it relentlessly to the point of absurdity and all mysteriously complied. But surely not.
The exceptions to the No Radar Posts rule are as follows:
1. Radar blows up. Not financially. Literally. Explosions, fire, etc. Ka-boom!
2. Something actually happens at the magazine that's worth covering. Our threshold for what constitutes something actually happening is pretty low, but just to clarify, this does not include: Maer Roshan has lunch. Someone misplaces the Drew Lee's stapler. Chris Tennant sneezes. (Twice.) The toner in the fax machine needed to be replaced four ago...and no one's replacing it.
3. Radar produces something that can actually be critiqued. Like a magazine. Or a website.
Regarding number three, we're pretty sure the site will launch today. We could be wrong. But we don't think so. In the meantime we'll leave the "When Will Mort Remove the Feeding Tube?" countdown to our colleagues at Gawker. UPDATE: And...we were right.
