Eric Pike Takes Over as Martha Stewart Living EIC

The most striking aspect of this particular print media career trajectory is the enviable continuity. Eric Pike, announced this week as the new editor-in-chief of Martha Stewart Living magazine, has been with the publication since 1992, two years after it launched.

He came over to MSLO after stints at DesignFrame and Carbone Smolan Associates, and has risen to EIC after serving as associate art director as well as editorial and brand director. From the MSLO announcement:

“I’m so very pleased to hand over the duties of EIC to Eric,” said Stewart. “He has worked with me for over 20 years and has been instrumental in the development of the Martha Stewart brand. I look forward to working with Eric and his team as they continue to produce the best editorial content available at any lifestyle magazine.”

Another reason to envy Pike? The number 2,088,788. That’s his publication’s total current circulation.
