New York Daily News’ National Push is Paying Off

The New York Daily News’ relatively new national vertical — Daily News America, which debuted in July — is off to a strong start. Capital New York reports that traffic was up 21 percent in August, to about 19 million unique visitors.

In a memo obtained by Capital, the Daily News’ editor-in-chief Colin Myler and president Bill Holiber expressed their excitement:

We can now say with confidence that we are a national player. Every aspect of the content being created, whether it be national, international or local, has had a significant impact on our great web audience growth.

It’s only one month, but sure, get crazy. And because no Daily News story is complete without a New York Post diss, the memo also stated “In case you were wondering, the New York Post website does not figure in the ComScore premier league of players.”
