New York Times Beefs Up Business Coverage Ever So Slightly
Buried deep in a self-congratulatory New York Times Co. press release titled “New York Times Business Section Continues to Break Vital Corporate and Financial News; Must-Read for C-Suite Executives” is a minute sliver of news about the Times‘ business desk. The paper is starting a new column.
Starting tomorrow, Times “Phone Smart” columnist Bob Tedeschi will helm AppSmart, a column about mobile applications. The Times is also expanding the scope of its extant “Prescriptions” blog.
Okay, not the most earth-shattering news, especially after we learned that the Times was interested in staffing up over at DealBook. But as The Wrap says, “Even in-house publicity departments have slow days.”
