Newsweek Feeds The Beast
A week after beefing up staff on the West Coast, The Daily Beast adds to its New York team. The site poached Newsweek deputy editor Tom Watson to serve in the same capacity on the Beast staff. Watson, an eight-year vet of the newsweekly, joked to WWD, “I hear the future of journalism might be moving in this direction.” Watson and Daily Beast founder Tina Brown go way back to the Talk days, as do recent recruits Gerald Posner and Gabe Doppelt.
