Newsweek Keeps The Odd Covers Coming

Newsweek apparently doesn’t know when to quit. After publishing the ultra creepy Diana cover picture, you’d think Tina Brown and others would take the hint from pretty much everyone everywhere that it made the magazine look bad, and try to clean things up. But no, instead they thought, “why not keep the tackiness going?”

The above is the newest cover, one that clearly goes out of its way to attack Michele Bachmann’s appearance, even though she doesn’t actually look like that. FishbowlNY isn’t defending Bachmann – it’s kind of hard to do that – but if you’re going to publish a piece about her, maybe pick a picture that isn’t absolutely ridiculous.

We wonder how that conversation went.

“Do you have anything that makes her look absolutely crazy?”
“Uh, maybe this outtake that I was going to trash, but I don’t think she realized we were taking her–”
“Perfect!”
