Richard Johnson Leaves Page Six For Los Angeles

The New York Post‘s venerated (/feared) Page Six gossip columnist, Richard Johnson, is leaving his position to take on a new role in Los Angeles. He will remain within the News Corp. family, however, participating in the company’s “digital ventures.” As Politico’s Ben Smith points out, this shows that News Corp. is willing to recruit talent from less-than-thriving print properties to bolster its expanding digital efforts.

“I love Page Six and the Post, but I’ve always wanted to give Los Angeles a try,” Johnson diplomatically told the Post.

He will be replaced by Emily Smith, who will begin at Page Six next month.
