Rupert Murdoch is Puzzled by Woman’s Fall, Assumes She’s Poor and Abusing Welfare

The other day, Ulanda Williams, a 32-year-old social worker, fell through an Upper East Side sidewalk while waiting for a bus. The Queens resident told the New York Post that doctors claimed her size (she stands 6’5″ and weighs 400 pounds) was the only thing that kept her from suffering more than just a broken arm.

Rupert Murdoch heard about Williams and took to Twitter to express his thoughts:

Fantastic work, Murdoch! Of course the woman got to be that size by abusing welfare and food stamps! She is black, after all! It’s shocking that no one brought that point up before Murdoch did.

After getting rightfully blasted for his comment, Murdoch issued a fake apology, tweeting that he “Did not mean to be unsympathetic to 400 lb lady, but fact remains unhealthy eating by rich and poor driving up premiums for all.”

Forget the blatant racism folks! Murdoch was merely tweeting about health care. Glad he cleared that up.
