If you haven’t had enough of your Scott and Todd fill in the morning, here’s some good news for you!
Along with Scott and Todd, Dish Nation showcases disc jockeys on-air in various other markets. They “dish” out the latest on celebrity couples, breaking entertainment news, hot pop culture moments or what happened on reality TV the night before.
“This summer, Twentieth Television and the FOX Television Stations set out to present viewers a fresh, funny and modern take on the entertainment news genre,” Paul Franklin, EVP & general manager of Broadcast Sales, Twentieth Television, says. “As exemplified by the positive viewer reaction, laugh-out-loud segments, and likeable radio personalities, we have succeeded. Serving as the perfect complement to magazine programs, especially TMZ, and off-network sitcoms, we are thrilled to launch Dish Nation nationwide later this year.”
For the pilot, personalities in Atlanta and Detroit were also featured. Additional radio teams in other major markets will join the September launch.
The show is syndicated to stations throughout the country. Scott and Todd and company will be back on Channel 9 or sister station WNYW/Channel 5 in the fall. No decision has been made on which station will air Dish Nation and when.
“This was a unique idea that we thought had real potential if it could be executed on a day and date basis,” Frank Cicha, SVP of Programming, Fox Television Stations, says. “The test proved that it could, so we’re ready to go.”
